I just wanted to post that the photo gallery project is coming along. In the short term I’ll probably just upload what Brad and I already had into an unsorted album (once I get the upload functionality working) and then gradually scan in older family photos. Of course, if I’m digitizing all of my family’s photos then I should probably look into already built software/services to help manage/display such a niche collection intuitively. It’d be nice to tag images with dates, locations, occasions, family-members, etc.
Off topic: it’s a fun exercise to imagine the product features I desire, go looking for such a product online, and then try to understand the differences between the desired vision and reality. Sometimes reality is poorly designed, sometimes reality isn’t intended for my desires, and sometimes my vision — after reflection — was actually a lesser design.
